update
That's good to know! Here's where I am as of today. I contacted "Hombre's" mechanic guy at the Triumph dealer in Winchester, VA. He was very helpful and suggested that I contact Triumph first thinking they might want to do something to help. So, I did. The rep I talked to wanted me to take my bike to my local dealer in Baltimore at which time they could evaluate my problem and contact Triumph's warranty people who MIGHT agree to cover some, or all costs for the repair. I am not counting on this though but I want to at least go through the motions. I have arranged to take my RIII down to the local dealer and see what happens. I will tell them though that the bike is to NOT be disassembled until Triumph comes back with a decision to cover the repair. If they decide not to do so, then I am going to learn far more about how the Rocket III is built then I ever wanted to.
Thanks again for your help. I'll let you know if I actually will need to borrow your special tool collection.
