I hooked it up to a car battery. Again, the warning lights flashed as the connection was made, but no go when the key is turned. The dealer in Bangkok is sending me a checklist to work through, and is talking about sending a mechanic up to have a look at it if that fails. Hopefully I'll get it sorted before too long, I've been away for 4 weeks and am itching to have a ride.

So the wife aint up for it either
Good luck BC

Hey, I live in Thailand, I can get that sort of ride anytime I want

Some things in life are beyond replacement though, and a ride on the Rocket is one of them.

Thanks for the concern all the same.

An update on the problem: The local dealer, which is 400km away, sent 2 mechanics up to take a look. They traced it to the ignition switch, one of the contacts wasn't contacting when the key was turned. They made a temporary repair while they order another switch, and will send a truck to take the bike to Bangkok so they can install it. I'll be going down there next week anyway, so I'll call in to find out the exact cause of the failed part, how likely it will be to happen again, and any ways of preventing it. I'll update this when I find out. Good work by the dealer, Brit Bike Triumph in Bangkok to send the mechanics and come and collect the bike, all covered by the warrenty.
