Can someone either confirm or deny the following spec listed at motorcycle.com?

They state that the 2006 R3 has 43mm front suspension... the same size as the Honda VTX by the way.

How and where is that measurement taken? At the steering head or down by the front axle. I was measuring last night to see if the VTX Memphis Shade mounts would work on the R3 (assuming a headlight swap). I could have sworn that the measurement at the steering head was greater than 43mm.

???:confused::eek:

The 43 mm is the fork tube itself, or as you said, down by the axle. The part you want to mount your windshield to is much larger, 59 mm. I used my trusty Harry Homeowner Harbor Freight digital micrometer to measure it :D

Thanks Fellas...

Kury??? has come out with 58mm fork mounts. I was hoping that our were the same size as the M109 as there are a few more goodies for it than the R3.

Funny...

I'm trying to see if the VTX/M109 (memphis shades mount) would work on the Rocket, then fairing options are wide open, especially if you're willing to make a headlamp swap.

Instead of paying $1200 bucks for a Corbin fairing, you have choices... be that considerably less expensive choices.

That might work. As Flip says... Hardon Freight stuff may not be entirely accurate, what's a millimeter between friends. These forks probably have the same bodies as the other bikes, just sprung and valved differently for specific bikes.
