......comes to the mountains of Tennessee. It was cloudy and the road was wet but we struck out for a long planned day ride to Roan Mountain. We evaluated the weather and thought it better to go into Virginia since there was less rain there. I continually looked up and thought I was seeing rain on the mountain tops but after a while I realized it was the dust in the atmosphere. Weird day out and you could feel the grit buildup on you lips.

That is not a dust storm! ;) :whitstling:
This is a dust storm.
January this year.
We have had quite a few in Oz with years of drought now.
Your pictures are how NZ experience our Oz dust storms after they blow eastwards and cross the 1000 miles of ocean.

These blow the other direction too -- across the Red Sea and into the middle east - experienced these when I was in Baghdad - sand got in everything - your nose, your eyes, your food, your clothes. Interesting place to visit -- wouldn't want to live there. ;-)

We don’t get that much Sahara dust very often and I’m glad.

This is Appalachia man we ain’t supposed to have dust. We gots humidity. 😂

I did a couple of cool videos of Haboobs.
