Rockets Across America V – Fall Launch

Hey guys, im not gonna make it back, have to go and pick up the pa system today.
Thanks for the loads of fun i had with you guys,
great group of guys and girls!!!

Worked on my front brakes from 5AM to 11AM,
had to quit and go be a witness for my harley riding buddy that got in the wreck awhile back.
Anyway, my new improved brake line, was trapping air bubbles and me and my buddy used his pump after court,
and we still never got brakes till 8PM Friday night.
Saturday morning was spent changing out the front tire, then riding to the Triumph dealer,
getting a new tire on for todays drags against the harley boys.
probably gonna get my ass smoked cause its a run what ya brung,
and they (the harly dealers) can afford to beef something up with NOS,
where I'm just me, and can't afford that fancy crap....
Anyway, win, loose, or draw, I'm gonna show up and give em a go.
My oldest son who works at a machine shop said to bad we didn't make a wheelie bar for ya dad.
I'm thinkin' wheelie bar sounds good for next time.
Anyway, thats the skinny on WHY I didn't make it this go around..

oh yea, the Triumph dealer's wife said she was gonna shoot video and put it on you tube,
of course,
IF I loose, that may change..
Sure wish some of the HP junkies was here.....
Maybe next time I can get her dynoed before hand too.
Glad everybody is having or had a good time at RAA5.5.
wish I could have been there to PARTY with y'all.

Well here it is after a beautiful day for riding.
Went by an picked my harley riding buddy brfore headin' for the race trac.
Got there late, (you guys know how slow harleys are), anyway
I won my first race against a grey, or silver something,
****** rocket of some kind.
Second race, was different.
I lined up and there's this old Triumph Trophy sittin' across from me...
We look at each other and give a thumbs up.
we pull up to the line.
the tree starts down and turns green.
The race was on, but it wasn't much of a race......
Old Triumph Trophy took me by a half second, and 6 MPH.
We pulled over and talked for a minute or two after that run,
Man told me he just sold his rocket a few months ago.
Even had a car tire on his too, an '05 model...
Had problem after problem with it and finally just had enough.
I looked at his vest, thought to myself "BigErn"...
Yep boys, I got myself whupped right, by BigErn2300
on a 15 yr. old Triumph Trophy.
The third race we ain't even gonna talk about.
It was against BigErn too, an I really wanted to beat that Trophy.
LOLOLOLOLOL That was funny.....

So what were the times and speeds?

That Trophy will be hard to beat. I have an '00 Trophy 1200, and I'm pretty sure it will smoke the Rocket in the 1/4 mile..

Had a great time. Thanks to the Cowards, aka "The Knome Slayers". I'm in Antelope OK, and I sware everybody here has a birth defect. Two of the girls that waited on me at the taco place here were both cross eyed, and the boy making the tacos had tits and the Indian ( not native) could not figure out how to split the hotel bill on two credit cards. I suspect the family tree around here looks like a power line pole.

What a great time. What a great bunch of misfits. Cudos to Steve & Katie. A job well done as usual. Still on the road on my way to Power-Tripps in Birmingham. Was apprehensive about the upgrade till gwilliams and I swapped bikes for about 30 miles in the hills. He has a really sweet ride. I was anxious about the upgrade but not now,..... It's like I ust'a feel as a kid waiting on Christmas.

I highly recommend "The Hub Motel". Lots of great riding as soon as you leave the parking lot. For those of you who like to scrape pegs you won't be dissapointed

What an absolute blast!! Met lots of good folks and really enjoyed the rides and getting to know other riders. For those who didn't make it, plan for it next year. The folks at "The Hub" were great and took really good care of us. Good job Captains !!

Remember me saying i was a cop magnet??
On my way back i got a F**** ticket about 10 minutes after we split, but it was well woth it i had a blast
