There's a modified Rocket out west that has run in the nines.

Had a blatt doon the track earlier this year
But couldn't get down lower than 12'secs
Back wheel just smoked oot on the starts
And enjoyed every run I done though - BIG FEKN GRIN FACTOR

What was the terminal speed of the Rocket and the Yam mate?

Ref gear ratio..
I would imagine that what they are talking about is similar to removing teeth from a bike's front sprocket (or adding to the rear[or both]) which has the effect of reducing the bike's overall top speed but can greatly increase acceleration thus for a 1/4 mile would allow the rider to gain speed at a better rate and thus cross the line at a higher speed.
Am sure there's someone on here who can do the techie description better than me but if you reduce the first value in the gear ratio you make it easier for the engine to turn the wheel and thus gain more torq/acceleration. although the engine has to rev more for any selected speed than it did previously therefore reducing the possible top speed of the vehicle.
( am hoping I got that correct but am sure someone will correct me if I didn't)

Im not 20 stone yet, :cry: more like 16, :lol: could do with higher ratios not just for
dragin but for road use Its a pain to totally blow a superbike away up to 7200rpm in top only to have them fly past above 170 ish come on rich i know tou can do it

The time and terminal speed you recorded at Crail are within a whisker of what I was getting in 1972 on my roadgoing H2 Kawasaki,
750 triple stroker. Ain't progress great?
