At 11 o'clock today the guns fell silent over Flanders fields .
English and Scottish soccer teams are set to defy fifas rules and wear poppy armbands later on today in remembrance of the fallen commonwealth soldiers . And well so they should ! !
Got to ask- what sre poppy armbands?

Shortly after the ceasefire , the battlefields if Flanders became awash with red poppies .
These became a poignant reminder of the blood that had been spilled and we're adopted by the commonwealth as a symbol for the losses . UK citizens wear their poppy , now made from paper , by the various legion and veteran groups and sold via donation for the armed forces charities !

God Bless ALL Service men & women and their families here in the U.S. and all of the great allied countries, for their selfless sacrifices of time lost to never be regained, of blood, of body, and sometimes of all. There will never be enough words or emotions to convey the appreciation we all have for you. NEVER, EVER will it be forgotten or in vain.
So many examples, here is but one:

One Marine's Story of Recovery and Inspiration

Too few Americans pause to give thanks to our armed services veterans, especially on this special day set aside for that very purpose.

Never should we take them for granted and never should we forget or ignore the invaluable role they fulfill in order for the rest of us to enjoy the fruits of their sacrifices and labors.

I served for 28 years as a Canadian soldier. My last deployment was Afghanistan with 10 Mtn Div, Fort Drum. I can tell you that soldiers are humbled by the support they recieve from those we leave back home. If it wasn't for that support, kindness and love from family and strangers alike...... I just want to say thanks to those who made it possible for us to serve, there is no greater honour.

Because of you & your fellow service members we can. Thank you our great neighbor!
