Decided to do an oil change for the Adirondack Salvo. It's real hot and humid, so naturally I wrenched the head off the rear drain plug. It's going to be a bunch of fun trying to get up under the beast to get the broken bolt out.
Does anyone know what size plug I need for the rear sump?
Todd I woill have a looksee when I get home and let you know. When I pulled the sump off mine the gasket was so thick I did not need another one. I think it will be easier for you tho get it out if you pull yours that you can attack it fromm the internal side once you pull the Swarf collector screen.
Below is a shot of both swarf collector screened area that the plug are in. one front and one in the back.
Ok Todd the pug is 14 mm X 1.50 mm pitch good luck, When you get her off and take the baffle plate and screen off her remeber the muck you see is under the other one also. Anuway if you have access to a drill press flop her over on the gasket side you will be perpendicular and and withit clamped to the table it will be easie to line up the easy out with the drill spindle first.
Before I had to go to the drillpress, I was able to get it out easily on the benchtop. Probably could have gotten it on the bike, except for the lack of room and awkward work position. But I'm glad I took it off, because it was **** nice to see how clean it was...I had to look hard to find any sludge at all.
Thanks again, and see you next week. (We're going to behave ourselves, aren't we?)
