You can avoid the Hume all the way to Albury if you go the reverse of what we did going to Hervey Bay - Warwick, Muswelbrook, Bathurst, Wagga Wagga, Albury. I joined up with Malcy and Ponters at Cowra. Gets a bit off the beaten track between Muswellbrook and Bathurst but it's a beautiful ride and pretty direct too. You got plenty of options, but the Hume is so good these days it's horrible.

All in favour say aye ... spoke to Ponters a couple of days ago , discussed allowing time for those that wish to visit Port Arthur (ghost tours a trip) .. so at minimum 4 days on the island we thought. Will Ponters be making a group booking with T.T Lines or are we booking individually ? Told Mitch that if he wanted to cut the cost on the ferry just sleep in one of the lounges (don't get caught trying to remove overhead lightbulbs .. purser frowns on that ) .. getting a cabin bumps the cost of the crossing up a fair bit.

She's never had time to do the Gordon River/ Hells Gate/ Maria Island boat cruise .. we'd really like to that while in Strahan .. get to Strahan on day one in Tassie if we wanted to .. going via the very scenic and un-policed Cradle Mountain race track.
