RamAir Kit In The US?

I haven't pulled the claw yet, but I assume I'm running some sort of velocity stacks on my new Carpentered Rocket. The Ramair should be a pretty simple install. Any thoughts on whether I would need a re-tune changing from stacks to Ramair filter?

Thanks,
MarvinM
if you are running filterless Vel' stacks then No you do not need to retune unless it become to rich as the Ramair will give clean filtered air it will also make it a tad richer and even if does I would recommend you take it to Carpenters to retune it just to be safe

I would STRONGLY NOT RECOMMEND allowing the crankcase to continue venting into the under-seat box if you intend to keep anything in there. SOME oil mist will get in and eventually gives everything a fine coat of oil which dust/dirt WILL stick to.
Been There Done that recommended to me when I put K&N 2780 on............ Ugh what a mess, never again
I run a piece of fuel line off the outlet from the crank case , it runs under the tank and reduces to a smaller fuel line this is then plugged into the back of one of my air cleaners , no fumet oily stink or oil soaked breather filter
Much Better Option
That was the first cable I purchased and it did not work at all.

That's why I suggest using some type of filter foam at the breather tube hole.
Tried that Too ..... does not stop Oil Mist and also I have notices that after riding in Heavy down pours (Rain) that some water collects in the the open topped airbox so that could end up in the engine.
Stick to the small filter on top of the engine breather or as @Wrecka said "run a piece of fuel line off the outlet from the crank case , it runs under the tank and reduces to a smaller fuel line this is then plugged into the back of one of my air cleaners " or put filter on end of extension
Also point to Note is that the K&N 2780 filters are only just adequate for a bone stock engine, the Ramair are far superior in regards to air flow and if fitted properly the newer version seems to have addressed the splitting problem
Or if you are not worried about keeping the Bearclaw intact you could opt for the K&N RX-4040-1 which flow the best these are what I use

If I recall correctly, the instructions that came with the cable said that you need to prevent Windows from installing the default drivers, and manually install a specific version of FTDI drivers from FTDI's website instead. I've had no problems with the cable following those instructions, but if the Lonelec cable works out of the box, I agree it may be a better choice for most.

Hans,
That "140 cubic inch R3" plate/sticker on your crankcase next to your oil filler is WAY COOL looking!
Where did you get it?
Sure as heck beats $150 USD!

You should tune it.

That is correct. I downloaded the drivers my self. it just did not work. I have heard from a few here and another site warning that the blue cables dont always work. I was lucky enough to get one that did not work. No big deal. The Lonelec worked perfectly. But if yours is working you have been blessed by the cable gods.

YES INDEED!!!
$150 in USD!
Would cause a bidding war on Ebay!

Thats why I suggest using some type of filter foam at the breather tube hole.
ime of other breathers - some mist eventually finds it's way through the filters. I'd simply not risk it.

And if your TuneECU cable is fitted with FTDI chipset - then you MUST use the FTDI drivers. Install drivers before attempting to plug in the cable - then the chipset should simply find the drivers rather than initiate a driver install routine.

The simple fact is that if you buy it from a PROPER store serving professionals it'll work.

Buy it on ebay and despite Chenli and Chinli having what appears to be the same product - there is no way to know what's inside unless they are VERY specific.

Mine too is BLUE but came from a shop in the UK recommended by the guy who serviced my dad's car.

How/where did you get it made?
Is it metal with a stickum back?
I wish to make something similar for the front fender triangle.
