RAA 2018 East

With the final location not yet selected, I chose Point Pleasant WV as a general geographic reference point. My thoughts were to trailer my Rocket to Lupe's and then ride east from there. Google Maps shows it as just under 900 miles which for me is a 2 1/2-3 day ride, but doing it in two also doable. RAA west will demonstrate how I do on my 3T. I find it very comfortable on local rides with the upgraded Triumph touring seat/backrest. If it is the same cruddy foam as in the stock seat then I might find it uncomfortable.

Another option is to ship my Nomad to my son's house in Bel Air, MD. From there it is about 400 miles to Point Pleasant. I'd then leave the bike there as my east coast rider and then give it to my son when I finally hang up my motorcycle spurs. This would be a great option for me if he can get some leave to do the RAA East with me. It depends on the date. He's stationed at the Pentagon and it's difficult to get time off at the end of the fiscal year when programming and budget issues are worked.

I’d like to have a chance to join in. I’ll be watching for dates and locations. KY is a big place but the best riding is in the eastern third. I live 12 miles from Middlesbrough KY and hav some experience in the area of the tristates. May is a good lime of year here with warm stable weather.

Ok y'all. Dates are May 18 thru the 20. Or whenever everyone wants to get there and leave. It's the weekend after mother's day and before memorial day. How many are coming so I can get a motel blocked out. It's on the Kentucky,Tennessee line. Once I know how many approximately I will firm up and give y'all the motel details

300 miles between them Bull Point Pleasant WV. looks to be a area where they roads are motorcycle friendly. Mammoth cave is more like flat lands compared to Eastern Kentucky.

Paul we are looking around Middlesboro Ky. I guess we are going to have to ride up there next weekend to find a motel. I am trying to find one where we can have a fire at night. I found a great place but I don't think y'all want to use a bath house. LOL And most of the cabins have bunk beds.
