Hello everyone!!

My wife and I have been riding an 2013 R3T for a year and a half now and enjoy it very much.

I have not taken the time yet to ride a Roadster.

Are the rides and handling the same?
Are they the exact same bike but one is dressed up more?
If you take the hard bags off the Tour would you basically have a Roadster?

Thanks for any information!

God bless!!

Michael

Steele Rocket, I cannot answer your full question but there are big differences in my view. I ride the R3T as my daily driver and take several two up trips around the area with ease. I love it and think it is perfect for my desires. The R3R is my inner hooligan! I don’t own one but from the ride I think it moves faster and turns in better. I don’t think it is as comfortable as the R3T for long stuff though as I have become accustomed to floorboards and the sitting position of the T. Both bikes are stock that I’ve ridden and of course specific mods will make any bike more suited to the rider. The tires are different and that helps to account for the turn in, the R is 60 pounds less heavy and is tuned differently. So going straight from one to the other, I can tell a big difference; and it is a good thing each way.

but the t does have that comfort thing going for it...

I have owned both, I owned an 08 Touring for 5 yrs and now I have the Roadster. As far as handling I prefer the Roadster over the Touring.
Comparing both stock bikes I would give the Touring the edge in riding comfort but not by much.

As far as carrying passengers my wife and I used to knock helmets on the Touring This never happens on the roadster due to the rider seating position.
As far as HP there is a difference but it's not as noticeable as I thought is was going to be,
I do notice the Torque difference between the two, the Tourings torque is awesome.
All in all both great bikes but I personally prefer the Roadster
