R3T rear suspension

I have scraped the right side muffler once, 2 up leaned over at about 80/90 kmh and went over a small depression in the road, other than that no probs, gets a bit bouncy at times on a corrogated road. Be interested to see how your new ones go

Mine bottomed out on day one, I am planning to replace them but I turned both down to setting one and then turned them to setting five and kept turning them the same direction till I got to setting three. Seems like it reset the internals or something but they work better since I did that.

I just replaced mine with Progressive 440's. The ride is much improved but one of my stock shocks was leaking (that's before it stopped leaking) so IMHO, any quality aftermarket shock will be a big improvement.

I got the 440's used at a bargain price. If I was to buy new shocks at full retail I'd probably lean toward the YSS shocks. They are adjustable for damping which the Progressives are not and Klaus has a great reputation for customer service.

Well, I have a good news story. My local Triumph dealer have paid out AU$1400 for a set of Bitubos( you may remember I was going down this road a few weeks back) as well as replacing everything that is scraped underneath. Foot boards, mounts, mufflers, heat sheilds etc. They are also going to repair the tingle/ vibration that goes through the bike. This seems to affect mainly the tourer. It is going in on Saturday so they can order all the parts. As they also believe that the nut on the clutch is not torque turned properly from the factory, which results in the preload or something not aligned properly they are also looking at that. I'll know more on Saturday because I intend to hang around and watch them.
It took a quiet explosion in the showroom last Saturday morning to get them moving, but they are certainly acting on my issues and quickly. The manager took it for a run and came back and said ' yep, you have a problem' and in a week its all organised.
They must get sick of people walking in blaming the bike when in fact it is the rider that needs a new tune loading, but in my case it was a legitamate
issue that they eventually acted on.

Good to hear it work out for ya..... not exactly what the convs is to USD but sure it was going to be a tiddy sum of money.

I think AU$1400 is about US$896.00.
It turns out the tingle is being caused by the bearing that the clutch basket sits on. there was one part not in the country so they put it back together and will take it back in a week or two. drain

Hi, I am interested in that tingle you had in the clutch. I recently got back from Phillip Island after coming back the long way on my R3T. Have 3,000k on the clock. On the way back the clutch developed a rattling sound between 80k and 100k, if I slightly squeezed the clutch and took up the slack it went away. Sounded like a Ducati clutch at idle but not as loud, a bit like a washer rattling on a shaft.

I would be interested to know if this may be that same problem you experienced.

Thanks...
