R33 progressive springs

I'm just gonna use a Crescent wrench.
I plan on just lifting the weight off the front end
with the bike lift, then unscrewing the cap.
Don't know what will happen yet,
but I'm tired of waiting.
It's almost dangerous now,
so whatever pressure is on the springs when the threads clear,
I'll deal with it then.....

THANKS Atomsplitter i have enough information from your photos to make those tool for the forks job ps part of my buisness is working on heavy plant

Thought I had better change my front fork springs as they were so soft it was dangerous. Replaced them with progressive springs and 20 weight oil and filled the fork tubes to 90 mm from the top as per the manual. To my surprise this made little to no difference. i can bottom the front end on a small speed bump, pot hole or even if I hit the front brakes hard in my drive way.

It would appear the valve bodies are in good shape but not serviceable. Any ideas? Thanks

Your oil is too heavy.

Prehaps, but that doesn't answer his question... There's no way NEW springs should bottom out so easily, & should feel stiff as with that oil...

Exactly right that the OE springs get dangerously soft, mine did & I lowsided when the frount dived & washed out under emergency braking ( 2 years ago)

Did they come with some spacers or anything left over in teh box. Should they come with Spacers? - Asking just in case. IIRC their HD springs come with spacers - that's why.
