R3 Touring wish list

What to buy for your R3T

Hey Deano, I'm a newbie too. So my suggestion comes from personal experience (Pain). (Stranded on the side of the road 1 mile from the Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA). We broke the CLUTCH LIFTER SHAFT. Instantly Stranded. My first suggestion to you: Power Tripp Performance and have Wayne send you a replacement CLUTCH LIFTER SHAFT, made from TOOL STEEL, 3x strength of crappy factory piece. Also make sure your bike has the UPGRADED Clutch Liter Piece. In my personal opinion;
Before and above all other mods, safety and mechanical reliability dictate the priority of purchases. This isn't a ton of $ we're talking about and being fully loaded down for a LONG TOUR, 2 up and STRANDED in the middle of nowhere!? IT REALLY BLOWS!
I got my R3T in March of 2010 and had 9,600 miles when it let go! I have about 17,000 miles on it now. I've learned a lot about it's quirks and the clutch actuating mechanism is probably the ****tiest. Achilles Heal=FIX NOW, Cool ****=Buy Later. Stay Safe. -Dan
