Actually, the oil restrictor in the head clogged (3Bond block sealer not cleaned out when the dealer split engine for transmission work) and the cam bearings and bucket holes took a beating. More costly to fix than a replacement head. I have had the head for a few years now. I cut it up because I wanted to know on my latest port design, how close I was getting to the water jacket in the upper sides of the intake ports. My sonic thickness tester shows erratic readings in a few places - normally indicating very thin aluminum. A few more photos will follow shortly. As will some DIY R3 porting tips.
