I have Tors, crossover pipe, triple intakes, PC5, ATRE and a tune....
My battery died over the winter and when I replaced the battery the gear indicator on my speedo always says 4th gear except when Im in neutral it reads neutral. The ATRE displays the right gear and the bike runs fine.....
Anyone know why or how to fix the gear indicator on the bike?
Thanks

Not having had an Atre but I have read where others have had to go thru a reset process to get it working properly, have you still got the instructions? If not PM Richard (CanberraR3). Or Skip one of them should be able to tell you what to do, sorry but I can't help:)

I recall you have a Roadster (be easier if you listed that fact under your avatar.....;) ). The ATRE if it's set on 3 will be telling the bike it's in 4th gear all the time. When you replaced the battery did you also reset the GIPro? Several of the settings - can't recall which does what now - mine's on 3 all the time) make the ECU believe the bike's in 4th regardles of which gear you're in. Maybe you had it set differently before......???? As you say you're getting N, I'd say that's what has happened.

Edit: and I'd say you can't do much about it other than set the ATRE on a different setting or get rid of it and de-restrict the bike using TuneECU.

Correct on Roadster.
I hear what youre saying but the gear indicator worked fine before and I *believe* the Gipro was always set to 3. Perhaps Im wrong?
Thanks

Dennis, I think we're reading this correctly. The Roadster has a built in gear indicator in the speedo. The ATRE is part of the GIPro, which is a separate gear indicator. The ATRE, if set on 3, tells the ECU the bike is in 4th regardless of which gear it's in but the GIPro still shows the correct gear. If the ECU thinks the bike's in 4th gear it's logical that the built-in gear indicator would show that the bike's in 4th gear. As I don't have a Roadster I can't check to see if that's the case, but it could explain what's happening.

Aha got it thank you Richard

That's all correct and I follow that, but why did the gear indicator display the correct gear in the past with the same set up until the battery croaked?
Is the assumption that I had the Gipro set to something else besides 3?
Thanks

Makes sense as the OP didn't specify it was a roadster I thought he was saying the GIPro was showing fourth gear all the time which led me to believe he was needing to reset it, it would help if it was mandatory to list you bike model in below the avatar as most of us do
