question to group: recently ordered ram air

Dealer doesn't have the ram air tune available, and they can't (won't) use HansO hex files
They cant as they would loose their franchise if the use anything other than a Triumph tune, they can only have Triumph authorised Computers, my nearest dealer whom I bought my bike from said that they do spot checks to make sure

I got my Ramair on and I can tell you that the intake makes the same noise the exhaust makes now.....if they couldn't hear you coming they will now...only they will only hear the sound, they will never see you.....

Care full there Steve your 2012 tune wont work in a 2014 as they have different base maps

Gratitude for the info, M8, but please explain why that matters.
Are not the ECUs the same?

Yes and No,
the Touring all years uses the same base map ECU firmware which is only used in them , the Standards, Classics and the ltd edition Tourers used the same ECU firmware from 04 thru to 09 are what I like to call "1st Generation base map this includes all and between map numbers 20050 (faulty) till the latest which was also called the "update tune" the 20228 after that the Roadsters came out and from 2010 till somewhere early 2013 they used a different firmware which required the 2nd generation tunes the 20335 (tors)there have not been many but I have had a couple of 2013 models which used this tune generation but most of the 2013 used the 3rd generation tunes which are still being used in the latest X models and current model. Each generation has the same ECU but different Firmware programing and will not except the the others ... I found out the hard way with the 2013 model when to my horror I had sent a tune which I believed to be the right one only to be told "My bike wont turn over" ... Eeek!!!!!!!! was my reaction I have since found out what I believe the clue it is in the vin number if it start with a 5 then it is a 3rd gen ... this is what I have been told
I hope that is a little clearer than mud

@HansO
Sure is clear and I really appreciate the dope!
Good to know even though I always go to the GURU for a tune on the dyno.
Since mine is a 2012 R3R, IF I EVER share a tune in the future it must be for a 2010 to 2012 R3R only???

Took forever waiting on a ramair set-up. Finally got it and installed a map from hanso. Runs great and lost the downshift backfire.
Very happy with the results.

I would like to address the downshift back fire. according to the folks who ride behind me I put out a shot of fire up to 3ft.(0.91m). I call my Rocket "The Chicken Fryer" That's why the Harley Screaming Eagles stay back. It looks good at night.

ok so I pulled the trigger recently for 140.00 via Ebay on the RamAir system and stumbled across youtube video below wanted to run this past the group

i was hoping for an increased in throttle response and maybe just maybe fuel economy but this video he sounds against this mod..
I'm loving this video..."I just don't like em " we all know fitting a stock air filter means " moisture " no longer exists in the universe ....I think he was just scared of the noise did he not say something about working on scooters ? don't buy a 2 1/2 litre bike and expect mega mileage ...stick to your scooters mate ...let the men ride the Rockets
