I’m getting ready to purchase a used Rocket. It’s a 05 with 4200 miles. The warrantee is expiring. So far the bike has no problems but it doesn’t have many miles. I’m worried about the output bearing problems found on early rockets. If the bike is out of warrantee and this bearing fails am I screwed or will Triumph fix the defect? Or is there an extended warrantee that can be purchased before the factory one expires?

Had my diff replaced at begining of 2005 due to a couple of R3's loosing a bit of oil - don't know of any bearing failures.

Yours should have had the mod - check the history, engine number etc with the dealer who might also offer the extended warrantee for a cost.

I was at the Triumph dealer the other day and they had flyers every where promoting a extended warrenty for Triumphs don't know if it is dealer wide or just the local dealers
