I'm touring Spain and France in a couple of weeks with a ZZR1200 following my back wheel. To do him a favour I have put the cat back on with the TORs so his ears don't bleed and also so as not to alienate too many natives. :x
However, it sounds a bit feeble. Would standard pipes and the cat bypass sound better but still quieten things down a bit? :?
I have recently gone from TOR's back to the standard pipes, both with the cat by-pass, and whilst it still sounds more throaty than standard trim, it's a lot quieter throughout the rev range.
Some people have replaced one or two of the silencers, instead of all three, to alter the sound, so you might want to experiment with that if you want something in between.
That is very nice of you. He must not know the way because a ZZR1200 will dust the rocket. I had an 04 with jet kit and custom pipe and tune and its a Hyabusa in Kawi plastic
Dobieman - I planned the tour and I have the GPS - he's going nowhere without me
I'm trying Owl's suggestion, last night I put the cat bypass on with two standard pipes. By leaving the top TOR on the right side the pipes are now equal length, and a decent volume.
I assume the Tune 20150 - Standard pipe (no catalyst) will be ok with one TOR and the under tank K&N.
