Back in Sept 09 my 05 Rocket left me on the side of the road with a total drive failure. It went to the dealers that same day, I got it back a day ago with a replaced drive shaft and final drive , when it was taken apart there were no teeth on the driveshaft only rusty dust, no molly paste had looked to have ever been applied, a quality escape for sure . The engine was removed and all of the parts were replaced that came in the UPGRADE KIT box. As you can see in the pictures some of the old stuff lots brand new and some of the stuff is pretty bad off. Just a matter of time before I would have had many more problems. Now all I have. to do is wait for the weather to get better and the ice to go away and it will be time for a ride !

I just test drove My Beastie after Gus at Baxters did the upgrade on it. I must say I am impressed so far in fact its wierd having second gear again with tons of torque. I did not get to speak much with Gus today as it was his day off. Hopefully he will be there the 13th for open house. I sur feel as if I owe him he even spoted a bad wheel bearing in the rear that I was unaware of. This could have sucked considering the speeds I ride. changed bot of them for me total cost for the job was 110.06 as I just had to pay for the bearings and install. Top notch fellow and dealership I must say. Anyway Road her a little tonight as its 15 degrees out run he rup above 100 to see how she felt and man its great to hear the whistle of the blower spooling up again. 3rd gear lifted and then the tire busted loose :D must have something to do with the cold pavement. I sure can tell the engine loves the cold air delivered from the blower!
27 days to Daytona Bike Week and man I can wait to feed beastie some sport bikes.
I have to swing by Wayne Tripp's and get her checked/tuned on the dyno and get a base pull before I stick the pistons and rods in. I have been talking to him about adding Nitrous to her for that final umph!!!!!!!!!!

I just love Gus...He really cares about the customer. He goes the extra mile!!! It was worth the two ~1400 mile round trips to do my upgrades. I hope y'all (sp Texan) tip him generously when he does yours. Think I'll send him a Valentine. (Don't tell my wife!)
