New map

After the nice member here got me the RPM numbers I needed, I made a new MAP for my PCV. :D

Basically I took the targets from 2500 RPM to red line, at 5% up to 20% throttle and changed the A/F targets to 14.7 from the 13's they were at. The bike runs great now and actually feels "crisper" on light acceleration through the gears. (Like it was too rich before)

I rode it on a 200 mile trip last weekend and averaged 41 MPG! Not bad considering the bike was in the low 30's with the base map from Dynojet.

I asked the Dynojet guy about fuel mileage. He said they build their MAP targets for power, not fuel mileage. He said I would have to make my own changes to my MAP to get better mileage. I did and the bike does! Try it. You'll like it! ;)

Oh and yes, the PCV does fit early Rockets. I spoke with the Dynojet guy when the question first came up and he said they used an 09 bike to build the unit for the Rocket and do the Dyno tests. He admitted the PCV would "most likely" fit earlier models just fine. But he would not commit to it, as they had not tested the unit on earlier models. And they do,,,fit that is. Just ask HANSO. He can tell ya.

Sounds like you were talking to same guy I spoke to a couple months ago, word for word that's what he told me that when I set about to create the Hanso AFR Table, didn't I already send you it if not send me your adress, also Can you send me your map be interesting to see what you came up with mine was for a mix of power and economy it would be interesting to see how yours runs in my bike as I am thinking of getting the LCD unit which also allows you to switch between maps it could be a good alternative map to switch to when touring and not Hooning around scaring the tourist's that invade our sleepy town

HA HA just wish I knew what the joke is, now how's your bike going these days

No Joke Hans.. Just nice to see 2 friends getting along...

The bike is doing very well. I have not had much chance to ride due to the weather here. Still got snow last week. I am very happy with the results.

Certainly cool up here and getting a bit fresh late in the afternoon; almost down to zero overnite but not quite. Still in t-shirts but need a jacket to ride, especially after 4pm. Soon I'll need the winter gloves.

WOW!! It was 80 degrees here today. 45 last night. You guys live in way too cold of an area!
Er .... you are talking Fahrenheit we are Celsius and it Autum here nearly winter
and I would call 45 f ( 7.222222 c) 80 f (26.66666 c) is a big variation between day and night:D

You are right! I forgot where you live. You are going into winter, we are going into summer. And yes, 45 to 80 is a big differrence, but it makes for great sleeping weather.

I'm at 4'500 feet elevation in the eastern high deserts of southern California. We get snow here once in awhile. Like four feet in three days in December of 2008!!!! Broke a record for this area. I was ready to move! I'm 45 minutes north of Palm Springs. Down there it's 120 day and night!!!!!!!!!!
