Castrol 4T Full Synthetic 10W/50 is the oil Triumph uses. I do too.
PS: No need to flush. Just change oil and filter.
Triumph recommends using semi-syn for new to 600 miles for the initial break-in. Then go full syn.
So I'm picking up my 2015 rocket trike next week... So from what I am reading on this thread I should use what oil the dealer has in it until 500 miles at my first oil change and then go full synthetic? I have seen a lot of suggestions on here about brand, but no one said amsoil... I have heard from a few old timers that it is the best, so any thoughts on amsoil? Any difference on the new engine as to what I should use? I'm sorry for so many questions I am really new to Triumph and would rather ask the experts instead of taking dealer advise... Thanks a lot for any info
I believe the Mobil 1 15W50 4rt is a good oil for the OEM set up after that it depends on things like spring strength cam lifts and rpm range requires something a wee bit better. I personally think Triumph switched for one main reason. $$$$$$I be NO oil expert, however, I have read the Amsoil extensive testing that is done by them.
Discounting for possible and likely bias, I found Mobil 1 syn to be their first rated oil behind them naturally.
So I went with Mobile 1 and have been very satisfied so far with 4 changes.
I actually believe that any of the top brands of syn with the wet clutch properties would be fine and would use any of them if in a pinch.

Castrol put into the Triumph Streamliner ? Bottom line is they are both probably good oils. I do know Red Line and Motul 300V are som highly recommended oils for high rpm running applications. I am definitely interested in trying these brands also. and AMS oil is creeping up on my list also.

u will find out in a few short weeks![]()
Cheers Tripps,It is my understanding that the only "true synthetics", ester based, not refined from mineral oil, are Amsoil, Redline, and Motul, FWIW
Thanks for the Heads up Jag....WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOTuse Mobil 20w50 v twin oil your bike will run like $hit!!
