hi fellas, which plugs and how many does one unscrew to change the oil. the manual says three. 1 with O ring seal and 2 with compression washers. when asked the techo's gave me 2 compression washers and said that's all that's required. anyone know what and where the real story. :?:

oil plugs

thanks jeff1,it's what the manual says as well so don't know what the techo's are on about only telling me 2 plugs. may have the ****s because i'm doing it myself, and this scooter is cetainly different from all others and they are probably trying to protect their business. much more certain of the quality and outcomes if i do it myself. always have but this is a different type of engine to normal scooters especially harleys which i've had for the past 9 year.

oil plugs

yeah, thanks mate, certainly will,, and will not use the techo's unless all else fails if they are coming the raw prawn with me.

oil change

There are three drains. One in front, one under and one back one. I use the washers 2 times before replacing. Could probably go 3 changes!!
The filter sump will drain a good amount of oil. My bike is 2005 the new bikes may have only two drains!!

oil plugs

thanks for the info rockinrobert, but i have a prob in that i don't have a front or back plug in my sump. all the plugs are underneath.

HTH,

All Rockets have 3 drain plugs. One for the oil tank which will have the most oil drain from it and two to drain the sump. Up to engine #217501 the sump plugs were on the ends of the sump. From engine # 217502 onwards all the drain plugs are in the bottom. Tighten the plugs to 25NM (about 18 ft/lbs)
