Never any. And, yes, the conversion is 5.5 qts, but you normally shouldn't need more than 5 (may be too much even), since you'll still have oil in the block after draining main and sumps. Did it sit for a long time?
 
OK here is the story, I changed the detent spring last year changed the oil same time of course let the bike run 5-10 minutes check lvl again looked good. no oil under the bike no oil in the coolant and no oily crap on the exhaust another **** mystery right, (the other is why I'm burning out R/R) no need to check the oil often. I'm thinking it's a issue from when the US backed out of switching to the metric system. turns out 6.4 litres (liters) = 5.5 quarts
CHECK VALVE could fail , oil could be flowing into the bottom from the tank it happened to me
 
CHECK VALVE, hmm sound like something to look into. Tell me how you knew that's what it is and how to replace it I couldn't find it in the manual?
