Oil Tank??

Hi, guys;
I called my dealer yesterday to see if the Beast was ready to be picked up, and got told that the factory had sent them the wrong oil tank and they had to send it back and re-order! I weas not aware that different Rockets used difdferent oil tanks ! (mine is an '05 std.) Has anyone else run into this problem??? Is the dealer just 'padding the bill' (maybe they want to put an oil tank in stock?) Have a Great Weekend!!

Hey, Skip;
They do look alike, but according to the dealer, the bungs for the oil lines were the wrong size!! They couldn't believe it, and spent a half hour on the 'phone with the factory discussing (and cussing) the issue. The one that's enroute is supposed to have the right size bungs. We'll see...

skip what you mean by your 05 and 07 thought the 05 was hers

My mistake,
you're both right of course.
The RED one is hers,
I just get to pay for it.
I did ride it the other day tho for about 80-100 miles,
just to keep the battery charged ya understand.
(and yes, she was at work)
 
Just like the space shuttle .... X amount of moving parts all supplied by the lowest bidder.
 
Thats one of the coolest things about this site, spend enough time reading and pretty soon you're more informed than the dealer.
