Oil leaking from new GT

Your leak is exactly where mine was... the starter is leaking at its front gasket. Triumph has a manufacturing issue and they damaged the gasket.

Mine is a 2025 GT

I drove my 2025 GT home yesterday and parked it in the garage. This morning I saw this:

The spots are maybe an inch across or a bit more. Definitely from the GT. Anyone have thoughts or suggestions?
Very very sad. You under warranty, visit your dealer. You did not mention how many kms or etc. Might be a loose bolt after service or something worse.
But, honestly, I’m starting to get fed up as well with my Storm 3R 2025. The build quality of the bike at first look is superb, but the reality is quite far from that.

It started when I brought home new from the dealership. It was about a 60 mile ride.

That's in the vicinity of the gear position sensor and oil leaks travel as you go down the road. I'm not saying that they're wrong, but I've heard enough dealership stories to know that they're also not always right. I would remove the starter cover and clean that entire area super thoroughly. Start the bike and see if you see the leak. If not, take it for a short ride and then inspect the area. It's most likely the gear position sensor.

From what I'm seeing in the manual, see Resources top of this page, (pg 1399 - 1403) if it actually IS the starter it's another o' ring. Not a big deal to fix, but yeah, yeah, you shouldn't have to. Rather than wait for parts and sitting at the dealer forever, I'd fix either of those issues myself. Faster and done correctly.

Btw, the Triumph service manual does not call for replacing any bolts on the starter (or the gear position sensor). What are they talking about? And, when the manual does specify that it's always because they have Loctite on them, which you can clean and reapply yourself. But in this case it doesn't even call for that.

Trust me, either of these are a very easy fix. You just need o'rings. I have a bag of the ones for the gear position sensor and I'd be glad to send you a few....

Thanks and I agree. In this case the dealer has the bike and is hopefully working the problem. I am also on crutches and couldn't ride for another month so it makes sense to give the dealer the first shot. That said, I will be watching carefully when it returns for any more problems. This is my second R3. My first was 100% solid and I regretted selling it so I got another as soon as I could afford it. I am hoping that 2025 was not a bad year for the factory.
