That is correct. Areas where the ECU is in closed loop it will add fuel trims to lean out the air fuel ratio.

Then the end result would basically be by getting rid of the 02 sensor your tune that you load will stay true and not be adjusted by what the 02 sensor was reading?

This is why it's recommended that you reload your tunes occasionally I guess? If you run in open loop you shouldn't have this type of problem then??

Oh, and thanks for the answers, glad somebody knows what they're talking about.

Yes. And not since being able to disable the O2 sensor in Tuneboy have I had the need to reload a tune. I also installed the Dynojet O2 eliminator.

OK here's what I did, and somebody helppppp

I unplugged the 02 sensor and took it off and then plugged the hole in the header with an oil drain bolt. Nice and easy.

Then I opened up the tune I decided on and went to edit tune constants and unchecked the 02 sensor fitted and then saved it.

Then I downloaded the now new tune. It seemed to go well but the bottom of the screen it states that open loop condition, not yet met, or something like that.

Then I thought well, maybe I need to have the 02 sensor plugged in while uploading the new tune so I did that. I reloaded the tune and it still states that open loop condition, not yet met.

Both times when I start the bike up the check engine light is on. Help please, it's nice and I want to ride.

02 Replacement Warning

I replaced my 02 to sensor with a M18 drain plug, with some anti-seize in case I wanted to get it out some time. Well running OK for a few days I started hearing
what sounded like an exhaust leak. Turns out the drain plug worked its way out
and was gone. Next plug is an 18mm short reach spark plug, cranked down nice
and tight. Looks a little strange sticking out of the pipe.

I have the exact same problem...open loop condition not yet met!

And when I try to turn off the O2 sensor in Tune Constants, it just keeps coming back on - even after turning it off and saving the change and also saving the tune.

Can someone please help

thanks

go to dynojet/powercommander web site .. order the plug in o2 bypass for 15.00 and forget about it... i called them to order them .. comes with every predator exhaust.
