Not such a good x-mas present

That’s FANTASTIC news Fred....
Sh!t you had us all worried there for a bit.
Thank you for starting this post.... it spurs people’s awareness - Fellas we need to look after ourselves more.
Oh and next time you’re seeing your GP ask for a PSA blood test - prostate cancer took my father unnecessarily.....

Way ahead of you. I've been having my PSA tested for about 20 years now. It normally runs about 1.4 or so. About 15 years ago it suddenly jumped to 6.0. They wanted to biopsy my prostate (google that if you want to read about a good time...NOT). I decided to wait 3 months and get retested. It's been fine ever since. I had had a full body CAT scan with contrast the same day they drew blood for the PSA and I think it messed the test up. That's the downside to PSA testing is you sometimes get false positives.

G'day RocketScientist

Haven't been on here long enough to be up with your story but have read back through the thread and can see that you are clearly a well liked and respected member of the forum.

Congrats on your good news! I did google prostate exam so from this date (excuse the pun) forward may the only butt clenching you have to do be because of full throttle shenanigans:D

Warmest regards
Mike

Fred, rumor has it that all the doctors checking prostates are Nigerian with huge fingers!!
You may need to get mentally ready, and make sure it is THE FINGER and the doctor is not rocking back and forth:D

I think you guys are confusing "prostate exam" with "prostate biopsy". The exam is what you get when you have a physical, can you say BONSAI !!!!. The biopsy is what they wanted to do. That's the one I suggested googleing. It makes the exam sound like a good time
