Saw Hanso today and I reckon here's already gone out in sympathy - bald as billiard ball; shiny too.
Say what you will about Peter Garrett's music and politics but he's actually a hell of a nice guy - I had a lot to do with him in the 6 months before I retired - and he really does have an impressive baldness about him.

Geez I had a one day growth too... glad to see you made it home safe with all the tourist in town, did you manage to follow my directions alright, that traffic will be like that now for the next 5 weeks, makes me glad I work at night the traffic eases otherwise it is pushbike (faster than car or motorbike) into town or 730am shopping trips.
Now don't get me wrong guys I did not say Peter Garretts music was bad but I saw him perform live and Not All of the songs they sang made it to the recording Studio and I am a Staunch Labour Man Myself but I just feel there have been times he could have done better, a few hollow promises and he is probally a decent bloke Too. My Step Uncle *****Adams is Labour member for Tasmnia and has actually done a decent job down there. Back on the baldness of Peter Garrett I always would have like to know how he got that High gloss polished finnish

Peter garret was the lead singer in a group called midnight oil he had quite a following with the alternative life style type people and save the planet type of people ,basically supporters of the green party .he was good at getting his beliefs across to people. The labor party gave him a safe seat ,gagged him made him tow the line and he has been a waste of space ever since. That is my opinion

Garrett was a leading 'green' who joined the Labor Party (Democrats) - some say he sold out. Never been a huge fan myself. When Labor won office in 2007 Garrett was rewarded for bringing his profile to the Party by being appointed a Minister. He still is.
He's a bit of a celebrity I guess.
My reference to him being a nice guy is just that; he's very personable, considerate, appreciative, witty etc. Rare qualities for a politician, most of whom have their heads so far up their arses to care about anyone or anything but themselves and their own popularity.
As I said, I'm not a fan of his music or his politics but had a lot to do with him in his capacity as Minister for Education.
