The dealer is stumped and has been unable to resolve the no sweeps at start up. And it has been progressive and alternating. Alternating or intermittent with whether the speedo would function at all. There may or may not be a functional speedo over a period of time but most recently it functioned, even though initially there were no sweeps with either the speedo or tack. Early on, speaking of progressive, the tach would sweep though that no longer ws the case. In other words, no absolutes. The dealer says no ignition switch issue. Their conference with Triumph has lead no where. Any suggestions?

That was a symptom of my ignition switch failing ... other than that I've never had it happen before.

I had that problem once with a blown fuse. But I hope the dealer would have found that by now.

If I remember right the horn and turn signals didn't work. Weird.

I'm with Hellfire on this one...if your ignition switch hasn't failed yet...it sounds like it is fixing to. Mine had those symptons for a couple of days and then..voila'...no ignition.

You didn't mention while turning the key on if the headlights came on or not.

Lift your tank and move check the connection from the ignition to the harness. It solved my problem. BTW, they don't like water. Be carefull when you wash it.lol
Later and good luck

Don't pressure wash you bike, EVER! It's bad for every part of the bike. If you force water you also force the dirt carried by the water into whatever you're spraying. I've seen wheel bearings that looked like a grenade went off in the carrier because the guy used a car wash sprayer to wash his bike.

More than likely you have a loose connector (or a corroded one).

Had the same problem try replacing the fuse that is labeled for the heated grips that also supplies power to the gauges. Also check the battery connections

Ive demanded the old/replaced intrument cluster be handed to me when I fork over 1300+ for the said causees. And possibly a speed sensor. +$$ more. I will spit lead if I get #$%^ed on this one!

Let me be fair: Roger, serice manager, tried on a pair from elsewhere and the sweeps were on target. Whether yet to be determined if the speed sensor is also $#%^ed out well see.
