NICE WEATHER NEXT WEEK

55 degrees today and even warmer tomorrow here in Michigan. The problem is , there is so much residual salt on the road I can't get myself to take the beast out. I don't have a good place to wash it this time of year. If only it had rained today.

I gave up on keeping my rims all sparkly years ago after that same sort of residue corrupted the rims miniscule to nonexistent protective coating and pitted the wheels surface. Only way to restore it will be to dismount both tires and grind/buff the damage out - time and effort I prefer to put into riding.

Hopefully, Triumph has done a better job of applying a protective clearcoat to the aluminum on more current models!

Not one iota of clear coat on my wheels, clean then sand with scotch brite, then green oxide and purple polish, rear wheel is the worse.

Been there - done that. The minute pitting on my rear wheel will require dismounting and machinery to eliminate, Jim, so for now, it will retain its grungy status.

We finally got our day. 70 to 80 degrees and very little wind. To bad we had to go to work. Still it is a 56 mile ride one way so it was great. Got off work before the sun went down which made it even better. Days like today make it worthwhile. :):):) I am ready once more to deal with the cold.

If it makes you feel a little better, Jim, know that I tried to sneak a quick run in late in the afternoon yesterday and I got caught in a nice, dank, steady rain on my way back home. Have I ever mentioned that I really hate riding in the rain?
