Having toured Scotland one December a few years ago I have a good idea what its like. Ice forming on your gloves as you ride is all part of the fun

Hello HOV and welcome from Virginia.

I love that mention of ice forming on the gloves while riding, I found a fix for that, HippoHands. One of the best bits of kit I have ever put on a bike for cold weather riding.

I usually don't sit long enough for that much ice to form...not usually
