2014 Triumph Rocket roadster
Hello all.

Well i am a born again biker who went and bought a Harley straight away after passing my test. After living with her 7 weeks i decided not to waste any more time and have bought a 2014 Triumph Rocker 3 roadster. I have not even test riden one although i have studied the life out of youtube and cannot find a negative report really yet. I have however found that she is a handful and also heavy but i still cant wait until she is delivered on Wednesday. Can anyone give me any advice before she arrives apart from send it back ??

Georgieboy.. And yes i am mad as a hatter !

Welcome from Michigan, USA ! You'll find most of that weight disappears as soon as you let the clutch out. You still have to be careful at slow speeds on uneven surfaces but I find it to be WAY less of a hand full than the Electra Glides I was renting. When turning around on a road, I can let the handlebars go to full lock, two up without worry. You'll also find it corners way better. My guess is after a couple miles in the saddle, any thoughts of "sending it back" will be long gone. Enjoy !

I am a new r3r owner as well, just have about 500 miles on my bike. Came from riding honda ace 750. I must say this bike doesn't feel too heavy or too big, and it is incredibly well mannered and easy to ride. It is really well balanced, with a low center of gravity, a remarkable feat of engineering, imho.
It is insanely fast, if you are feeling agressive and you will be amazed at the handling. My harley friends are all a wee bit jealous, although they won't admit it, i can see it in their eyes! have fun, be safe.

Thanks for the reply and i will take it all on board. The wife really likes the Harley but if i am totally honest the Harley just lacked what a bike is about , a bit of thrill and the laughing factor when i opened her up. The Harley has quirky bits and sounds nice when annoyed but so does the wife and i dont want to ride either all the time !! Roll on Wednesday and lets hope the new bride has a sense of humour when she finds out the old bike has gone .
