HI all, I have been reading the forum for a while, whilst deciding between a Rocket and a VMAX 1700.
Rocket won!

Current looking at decat options. I have another cat which I have cut the top off just to see how the cat element is positioned and have been able to take it out. May replace cat element with perforated tube wrapped in baffle cloth. Objective is to not change the look of the cat box but to improve the flow.
Not sure what effect the partitioning has within the cat box (housing).
Also will be slash cutting the standard exhausts and removing the end silencing elements.

I like to fiddle with bikes, which is why I did not go for the VMAX1700
 
Welcome.
The ends of the exhaust pipes come off without cutting. Absolutely no advantage in altering the innards of the pipes, it has all been tried before.

There are lots of cat delete options available.

Thanks chaps, Just like the look of short slash cuts. I have spare set of standards I got cheap of ebay (a little damaged at the ends) so nothing lost if it does not work out
Not looking for massive performance gains. Will run standard map for couple of months (winter) then look to change things around with updated map.
I have TuneECU (Awsome app) and have dumped current map as a backup. To be fair its quick enough, just could do with a few less gear changes, if possible, when overtaking.
a lot more planning needed when hitting those twisties

Hi, just for info, this is what the classic pipes look like inside. I slashed the pipes just where the second chamber starts. I think they are now effectively straight through!
