New recruit from Western Australia

Yandicoogina welcome. I am afraid you have reached the point of no return. You will not be happy until you have one at home. I took a test ride last year and had to wait about 8 months before I had my own. It was a very long 8 months. Just do it.

ha ha I have enough patience to wait two more weeks.
I have found one on the net with low mileage that looks sweet. Trouble is, it is on the other side of Australia. Now that presents two alternatives... freight it here, or the more obvious, go and get it and ride back.
You can tell I have 'been bitten', the NEED has me contemplating 4 hour flights and 4 days riding to get my R3 into my garage. Bitten badly....**** you Triumph!

I am counting down.... how can two days go so slow? Anyway, I mentioned on the phone the other day to my No. 1 lady that I will be flying home and heading straight to the bike shop later next week. She said (as they are want to do) "Oh no, not a motorbike, what do you want one of them for?" And then I'm thinking "do I really need HER?" If there isn't a serious attitude change promptly, I will not require any special pillion seat to be fitted.
As all my fellow workers say, you work here for 21 days straight, just to have a week off, get the bike and enjoy it. They are very wise men, what I work with.
I have a dealer holding a nice red 06 for me. Life is **** good.

Thats the spirit Yandi, and by the way that Red is THE correct color choice,so deep and rich.Just explain to the missus what life would be like if you didn't get it and if she would like to be part of an exiting experience.Let the choice be hers, always gets em,and if not no pillion worries;)

if you got the blue with tribal your problems would be solved. not only would you have the fastest r3 made but chicks dig the color. welcome to the club.

You guys seem so wise and wordly. Where would I be without your guidance?
I was keen on Tribal Blue and the bike shop I am dealing with HAD a TB in stock right up until 24 hrs b4 I rang them. So, red will be as good.
And by the way Baggage1, my backscratcher will be offered two choices, exciting or exiting experiences.

I agree with Pianoman...40 years between bikes and then jump on a Rocket...yikes! But what the hell, you have the bug, and you will now not be satisfied with anything else. It's a heavy bike and you cannot muscle it, but its got the power to get you out of most difficult situations. You will probably be a bit nervous about leaning hard into corners at first, because of the size and weight, but it won't take long for you to begin to trust your Rocket and become one with it. It's then you will become as crazy as the rest of us about the beauty of this bike. Good luck.

I am glad I am only 3 years between bikes, not 40. AND guess what? I fly home tomorrow night and then on the very next day....... ooooo yeah. I meet (and ride) the The Redhead. Can't wait. You should all just go for a ride tomorrow to simply remind yourselves how much more fortunate you are than 99.9996% of the world's population. To own and ride the R3 is a privilege! Chat to yiz again when I own mine.

I think I will go for a ride tommorow :D.... I wanna do some miles this weekend. Here in the US it's a long Labor Day weekend, the unofficial end of summer for us. Lots of fairs... festivals.... BBQs... all over the country. Here in our area one of the bigger ones this weekend is SantaCaliGone days in Independence, Mo. This celebrates the start of the road west for settlers "back in the day". Oddly enough.. I think KCMO has an Irish Fest thing, just another excuse to sink another drink..:D I've always liked the Irish...
