New Final Drive Ratio

Hombre, do you plan on going the chain route eventually? I would have thought your RWHP / RWTQ would demand a chain drive by now. Is there a RWHP # when you would say to yourself, 'Yeah, I gotta get a chain'?

No, I have no interest in a chain conversion. The shaft drive is part of the "beauty" of the R3. I also don't plan on surpassing 300 RWHP... too many things start to break.

This is probably a good time to mention why I'm doing all this... I just happen to love the bike. Sure, I could spend less and ride a turbo Busa faster...not interested. In my case, I get to loving a particular machine, and I want to expore it's practical limits. IMO the Echo Cycle R3 was beyond those limits. My R3 is now quicker than my BMW K1200S... and I prefer riding it. She kinda makes me feel like Slim Pickens riding the nuke in "Dr. Strangelove". :D

chain drive.. hmmmmm like that idea jack.. like on the speed triple.. then mono shock with single sided swing arm seems plossible. neff if i remember correctly did a chain. have to go take a visit to that whipper snapper and see what was involved.

I think he used two chains one for a take off to switch from left to right side drive and the final drive chain which was two miles long.

I think Dusold's design was a little better where he used the bevel box direct to the output shaft the did a right side final chain drive.

I know new gears will be cheaper than that! :p

FWIW, I bought the unused swingarm off that bike from Mike Dusold for a pittance. :)
