Nice!!!!! Now what brand did you use and how well does it work!!!!. I seriously need this on the touring bike because of my long commutes to work and this would be perfect!!! :D

mutt

Thats great ..... now what is it? lol
Ya got me interested but you left out what, where and how much .... just a few minor details. Does it have brake canceling since the switch is wireless?

Info for cruise

Hellfire this is called a tease, Guess you figured it out

Hi Thanks for checking out this thread I am trying to get together a group buy together, just an idea. My thoughts are that I would purchase these and modify the harness for your bike make the custom mounting plate and give you detailed step by step instructions that I developed with pics, like you see here. If that interests you contact me . Thanks Markn2147d

Cost is about $253.85
$74.95 of this is for wireless remote
Model 250-1223 Rostra Ultracruise II
wireless remote 250-1483

Basically there two ground leads (genitive one for remote ,batt)

1. brown accessory wire comes off switch Power when switch is on (if remote there is another accessory coming off the remote harness) positive when key is on.

Red fused 12 positive all the time

Violet tap into brake wire when you step on brake light goes on and ground when off the brake

Grey tap into the ecu wire that's Pink and yellow, square wave vss sensor

How it works (The same as your car if you hit the brake it cuts out the unit, if you pull the clutch it cuts out)
I have been working on this for awhile.
Current stage is that I have set this all up on my Rocket 3 05 and done about a dozen static tests. Seems perfect my fuel tank got scratched last summer at a Dealer and should get it back Tuesday or Wednesday.
Will test out extensively. Thanks

Found some info on it. Probably will be my next mod:

This Cruise Control system by Audiovox is the more reliable and easier to install than vacuum operated units. It makes a great addition or replacement for an existing unit that has failed and will require a switch to control it. This kit has a few advantages over the vacuum driven units:
  • Newer design able to read VSS pulses up to 38,600
  • Completely electronic servo requires no source of vacuum to operate
  • More reliable than vacuum unit- no vacuum diaphram to leak or fail
  • Consistent operation regardless of altitude or engine size
  • Easier to install since vacuum connection is not required.
  • Kit includes VSS/Wiring Info for vehicles from -1996-2008
  • Features safe, reliable performance that increases gas mileage and fuel economy
  • Reduces vehicle wear-and-tear
  • Provides for relaxed travel at preset speeds
  • Avoid unintentional speeding and driving fatigue
  • Easy installation- instructions included
  • VSS compatible-requires no additional accessories for gas powered vehicles with auto transmission
  • Will not work on drive-by-wire equipped vehicles -vehicle must have an actual throttle cable
  • REQUIRES control switch- sold separately
  • Same functionality as OEM systems featuring: Set,Accel,Coast, Resume, and Disengage
  • Set function-locks in a predetermined speed with the touch of a button
  • Accel function-Holding this button creates acceleration and speed is maintained once released
  • Coast Function- allows you to reduce/reset cruise speed
  • System can be disabled 3 ways-tap brakes/depress clutch, press "off" button, switch engine off.
  • Works with automatic transmission vehicles
  • Works with manual transmission--clutch disengagement switch required (sold separately) if tach wire fails to disengage cruise

Pig9r

This system is made buy a major manufacture that makes for all cars Rostra. It seems that they make it for Autovox. Looks like Amozon has the same switch that works for both.
Pig9r it seems that this system does the same as the Autovox does note: Control on my pic and can be mounted so you don't take your hands off the throttle . All you need to buy extra is a 8$ relay and a small stainless washer, a tiny 20 cent cotter pin solder or connectors and two custom brackets.
Has a three year 36,000 warranty

We are all waiting to hear how it works. So please keep us informed on how it performs. I can't wait. This will definantly be my next mod. Put me down on your list Mark. I'm in.

major question I would have, is the remote switch and unit water proof, would kinda suck for it be shorting out in the rain, or right after taking the baby for a wash down.
