2 and a half actually, I think you might be thinking further south below Bega and of Merimbulla which cops a chilly wind from the the snowy's in winter months we only get an occasional frost but it never gets really cold in Batemans Bay because the Clyde mountain and surrounding Mtns act like a barrier
 

Joey Im in Bendigo , have been, for over a decade. Its easy going place with all you need. was the richest town in the world back in the 1900 s ,from all the gold mining. so all the streets are wide and lots of big old pubs . now its just an comfortable old country town.if you make your way over let me know my shout with a cold beer.
 
There you go ... a local ready to buy you a coldie. What more could an aspiring future-aussie possibly require to move to what we already know is ' heaven on earth' could'nt help that !!!

Oh...a friend of mine came over around lunch time yesterday and we went down below the pond dam and shot just a little over 800 rounds..22 Ruger Standard Pistols. His was made in 1950 and mine was made in 1970...we had a great time..
I have a small shooting range down there...50 meters.

Probably something that would be frowned upon in Bendigo me thinks .. not real keen on good 'ol boys popping off rounds im afraid. People in our virtually gun-less society get a little jumpy when they hear gunshots yet they always seem to think it's a car backfiring ... 800 backfiring cars are going to raise suspicion though.

That is why I would want to be about 20 miles from closest neighbor...So they would not hear me...popping off rounds....

Just don't you hate it when a neighbor gets their panties in a twist over some little thing you have done.....like cranking the Rocket at 4:30 AM...and twisting the throttle a few dozen times to get it warmed up....before leaving home

I love it...seeing lights come on...3 houses down the street
