motorcycle lifts

I've got the big blue as well, same deal on the roadster in that you have to tie back the footrest. I've also got a front wheel chock, wouldn't like to juggle the big blue lift under the bike without it.

Tying back the floorboard would be fine if it was able to flex enough but it's not. It has to be removed. Maybe I just have to learn how to line up the spring that encircles the long shaft better. I swear it took 20-30 minutes last time. The chock IS a must because the bike must be upright to place the lift under it. The only option would be another person.
As TeeDee said, luckily the oil can be changed with just the wheel chock.
I may just go for one of the scissor lifts. I have the lifting hole brackets for the rear but what is the lifting point for the front? I don't want to damage the "pan."

I made my own lifting bracket that pins to the center holes on the bike and bolted it to one arm on an ATV style lift.
Put a small sheet of plywood directly under the engine sump and place the front arm of the jack under it.
The lifting bracket with pins in the holes steadies everything.
There is no danger of damaging the sump lifting it this way. I do it all the time.
