Having a bit of issue with my ‘08 Classic with 60K km.. It’s just warming up here in central Alberta enough to go for descent rides. Was stored in my heated shop over winter with treated fuel, treated with SeaFoam. Seems after riding for about 40 mins. @ about 3-3500 rpm that it surges a bit, not constant, just comes and goes and one time almost felt like a misfire. Just bucks and then good for 5-10 mins. and then may do it again. On the second tank of new fuel I added some SeaFoam again as I’ve used this for years to clean up old fuel and varnish in small engine carbs, but it still acted up. I thought that maybe fuel filter is getting restricted but immediately after one of these instances I twisted the throttle hard and it goes like a raped ape, so it's getting plenty of fuel. I thought maybe some water in the tank but it should be doing that at the beginning of a ride too. Checked for engine codes with OBD scanner and found none.
Does anyone have any suggestions before I tear into the fuel tank as a first option. Baffled! Thank You.

Make sure the 2 primary wires going to each ignition coil are tight. The crimp connectors are known to loosen off so much it causes a misfire. 2 coils are easy to get at but #1 coil is a pain. If the connectors have never been squeezed tight they are past due with 60k on the clock. I did mine around 30k when the bike started to act like yours.

Thank you, I think you are closer to the problem than me.👍
