Yikes! Interesting forum. She could be right out of Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

We checked the fuel and it smelled OK and the oil was clear. I've got to change the oil though soonest because it is about 2 years old. What a BEAST this thing is with every accessory made for the Touring. It has a Garmin Zumo GPS and cruise control too, two things I've not had. Well, cruise on a 1986 Gold Wing over 20 years ago. He even had the wheels powder coated silver gray because he didn't like the discoloration and Triumph wouldn't do anything about it. He gave me all his riding gear, which I can't use because of size. The beautiful heavy leather jacket is a 6x Tall, which I don't get because while he is large, he's not much over 6 ft.
The First Gear mesh jacket is a 4x, plus two Triumph helmets with some kind of comms device installed.

I can't post a pic because photobucket is not working for me.

You will love the R3T. I've got 2012 and I'm think of installing the Hanso tune just to bring it up to normal specs. I've waited to do this, after the first valve check only. Next season is going to be even better than this season. Enjoy!

I got my first real ride in yesterday after installing a new battery and changing out the windshield. Love the thing. I was concerned that I'd made a mistake in buying it just because of the sheer mass of the thing. I took it on one of our favorite short rides here that goes from the town of Port Orchard along Sinclair Inlet, around lighthouse point, through Manchester township then along Puget Sound to my home. Lighthouse point overlooks Rich Passage which is one of the most beautiful bits of waterway I've seen. Bainbridge Island is on the far side of the passage.

That route has some nice twisties and I was pleased with how nimble the Touring is. And with the stock tune the power and torque is truly impressive. The color is just stunning and while parked along a walkway by the shore many folks stopped to look at it.

And now we're coming into winter. We should have a few weeks of good riding weather before our rainy Pacific Northwest winter sets in.

I've got to figure out how to get photobucket working again for me.

Tried the correct way to post and still get this third party viewing thing from photobucket. $33 a month. Oh well

Mike, consider putting a 140 tire on up front. It will make the bike considerably better handling, easier to maneuver and you will swear that The Beast feels about 150 lbs less than it actually weighs.

I recommend the Michelin Commander II 140/75 R17- its a great tire all the way 'round: MICHELIN COMMANDER II Tire | MICHELIN USA

Shiny side up!

While the bike has under 6300 miles and with a good bit of tread remaining, having 8 year old tires on it gives me pause for concern. I've read some good things about Michelin Commander II tires. I also have a Kawasaki Nomad and they come with an unusually fat front tire, more so than an 1800 Gold Wing so some of the Nomad riders have replaced the stock size tire with a narrower Commander II, reporting that it improved the Nomad handling.

I haven't asked the question but how are you guys posting pics? I don't know of any other photo hosting web sites.
