Madstad windshield!

A few weeks ago RevZilla sent me a windshield I didn't order for a bike I've never owned. I let them know that if they gave me a shipping label I'd gladly send it back. They were very concerned whether I received the stuff I did order (which notably did not include a windshield of any kind). And wanted pictures of the windshield, which I provided. After that - silence. They must have calculated that it wasn't worth paying for the return shipping. Now it's just sitting in my garage, probably until I take it to the dump...

Meanwhile, I'm still patiently waiting for the MadStad to be shipped.

Received the MadStad today - sans instructions, and none on the site either. I've emailed them, but if I don't hear back today I'll probably attempt it tomorrow anyway. Looking at the included screws and washers, either the attachment of the shield to the bracket is not immediately obvious or I'm missing some bits.

They got back to me. No missing bits after all, it just wasn't intuitive to me how it is secured. There's a rubber one-sided grommet with a threaded insert that fits into the front of the bracket, into which the screw through the shield tightens. It seemed to me that would mean there was nothing holding onto anything from the back of the bracket. However, what happens is that as you tighten the screw the grommet kind of squishes into a donut so that it can't pop back through. With enough force I think it could still, but maybe that's a feature not a bug.

I'll post pictures and thoughts tomorrow, weather permitting.

ok, times up. Friday you knew how to get it installed. Waiting for report, pics pls. Yeah, I am a little snotty.

It is installed. But it's been raining almost constantly here, and my garage is too cramped to take proper pictures. Tomorrow looks better.

Might have to end up ordering this one. My CalSci screen cracked after a 120mph pull today.

Dang! poor quality.
Yea, if only they had sent me the clear and slightly thicker screen that I actually ordered, it may not have cracked.

It cracked at the top left (top right if you're in front of the bike) screw hole and it wasn't overtightened. It was snug at best.
