Lowers for my GT...My latest project

@Bedifferent any progress on these? I,m going to make a set as well. In my continuing struggle with wind management. $50 experiment. Just moving my hand around in different spots as I'm going down the road, it seems like quite a bit of wind is coming from below the windshield. So, I'll give these a try and if they don't work it's NBD. More bits in the parts bin.

I'll post more info when I'm done. They seem to be helping with the wind coming up around under the handlebar around the tank. I took the paper off and they really look nice. They blend in well.

Cool, I'll be interested in what size/ shape you made them. I just ordered 2 6x12" rectangles. Probably leave them about that size and test them.
I have created two really nice templates that I would be happy to share. One is the size of what I currently posted and the other is about a inch longer. I plan to have the longer ones custom cut from a pdf file which is what the company uses to laser cut the plastic. It is around 9 inches long. I would be more than happy to send you the files which you can print off full size. I'm not sure about the sizing of this screenshot of the longer template. The hole distance for mounting is 2 1/8 inches apart. I painted my parts today and will assemble everything on the bike maybe tomorrow and post a picture so you can see if you like them or not.

Thanks for the offer. But I'm not to savvy with computer stuff. And no printer. I'll probably just do some trial and error stuff, and test it out. I usually just cut plexi with a jig saw and sand it endlessly, ha ha. Comes out pretty good after 220 grit wet paper on a 1/4 sheet palm sander

I understand...there's always the snail mail option if you change your mind. You would have to PM me with an address. Personally, I don't know if I would go much beyond 9 inches tall as thing might start getting ugly looking beyond that.

I thought I would do a fresh post with the lowers mounted. As I've mentioned before, I cut these lower out of some of the plastic I had on hand and the plastic was not big enough to cut them full length and size. They will be an inch longer and the cutaways for the turn signals will be smaller and more precise. I swept the lowers back on purpose for a better look and wind flow. Probably all the pictures are overkill with some repeats, but you get the idea. On another note, I couldn't possibly miss the opportunity to drop one of my brackets and put a couple of small chips in the paint. That sucks!! I'll fix it later.

Yes, I have taken them out for a test ride. I do believe they make a difference, but it is always hard to tell just how much without taking them off and on to test. My slightly larger version should be the best test. It's a bit cool today and not t-shirt weather, so I cannot speak definitively just how well they work. When I ride in a t-shirt, the wind just beats the crap out of my shirt around my neck from the air that comes up from down below. With a jacket on, I don't notice it nearly as much. I don't expect a miracle, but my opinion is they will be an improvement judging by what I can feel with my hand and around my gloves. Nothing ventured, nothing gained and it's only money!

I just submitted a request for a quote to have my new panels laser cut out of high-impact acrylic. I have to wait on that quote before I can order. I'm really happy with how they look, as they almost seem invisible on the bike.

Your clamps look like they might be a simpler option, not needing mounting brackets to change the mounting holes from horizontal to vertical. If anything they may be to small at 2 1/4 inch. I think my clamps were like $16 each which wasn't cheap. They are really nice CNC machined aluminum clamps and are well worth the money. I may post more when I know more...
