Loving my new bike!!

Great to hear, wait till after the break in service is complete and then REALLY get to know the bike...

I'm in the same boat, though with my R3T. I think I'm up to 165 miles on the clock (34 already there when I got it).

I used to own a 1971 Jaguar Series 3 2+2. I used to tell people, I have some idea of how it is to be a beautiful woman, because when driving that car, it would turn heads.

Every time I've parked the Rocket these last two weeks, I'm amazed at the other cruiser riders and how they almost drool looking at the Rocket.

I still don't like how the Metzler wants to cut in in a low speed tight turn. I read with interest the posts of folks who have switched to the Avons and Bridgestones.

It's pretty clear I have a much better (read, respected) presence on the road now.

Welcome and congrats.

Get some nice Cobra V-rated whitewalls and you upgrade both the looks and the handling of the bike in one fell swoop. The only thing that comes close to the handling upgrade of the tires was the set of Progressive 444's I put on as rear shocks to upgrade the stock shocks.

I get accosted on pretty much every stop, unfortunately mostly by men who go "How big is that engine??" and then just grunt when they spot the "Rocket III 2300" that's on the nice Flipmeister radiator insert I added this spring... :D

I'll have to try the cobra's when my tires wear out, probably get black walls for the roadster though. My suspension feels pretty firm, i have the rear shocks set on 3.

Yeah, on the Roadster I would probably go blackwall too, was mostly commenting on Joesmoe's post about the R3 Touring. Not sure how the Roadster shocks compare to the R3T but I think the Progressives were a major upgrade on mine.

I couldn't agree with you more fantastic bit of kit. At first I was a bit uncertain due to the tight twisty roads in the UK but was amazed how easy the big brute handles.
