Got my Rocket 3 Storm R 3 weeks ago - oil consumption...

Hi, just bought a brand new Storm R 3 weeks ago. I was monitoring closely oil level and noticed after 950kms some oil consumption.
It went from half of the stick to the bottom of the zone. Not sure how much it is in volume, but since none of my other bikes ever consumed oil, I am a little bit worried.
Since day 1, I stayed below 3000rpm for the first 500kms, on 3500rpm till 750kms. Now, still below 4000rpm and will have first maintenance next week.
Note this is my first Triumph, so it might be common during break in period?
What do you think?

Probably in the sump. The engine has to run about a minute before you check the oil level. If there's no oil dripping anywhere and the exhaust cans are clean, you probably aren't losing/burning oil.

I always do the same: cold engine, 90 seconds running engine at idle, stop it for 3 minutes and then read the level... did it every 5 days for the 3 last weeks. Was stable up to 450kms than went down... Did not notice any leak nor fume at exhaust.

This is worrying me... in 2026 a modern engine is usually not consuming oil. Hope this engine will be reliable but usually not a good sign.

Does anyone happen to know how much oil there is between the Min and the Max? Is that half a liter? More?...

The engines are solid, plenty of people with tons of miles on theres. Just keep up on the maintenance. Also look into getting tune ecu if you plan to do your own service so you can reset the light.
