I am posting a shot of my Riken Raptor with well over 5 k on it. I have pretty much decided it is going to outlive me. The only wear noticeable is slight rounding on the outer edges and that just seems to make it lean into the corners better. Unfortunately the front Metz is getting close to the wear bars. Any comments or suggestions on an alternative out there, less expensive and compatible with the CT.

The Riken might (outlast you) but the old oriential rug ain't gonna........:)

I' thinking that whatever goes on the front is going to have to have a high aspect ratio, at least in the mid 80's. Otherwise it's going to be flat in the center and that's not gonna work at all, or you'll have to have the outside edge radius goound. One way or another you have to have a round profile or the bike will self center itself and/or have really wierd handling.

George,

I'm running a Dunlop D404 150/80R17 on the front. It's only H-rated but I'm not going to be anywhere near 132 mph. It seems to be holding up quite well. It's also a lot cheaper. Parts411.com has them listed for $102 with free shipping.

George, what pressure are you running? I've noticed my center groove is wearing just slightly more than the grooves right next to it. I have the Bridgestone Potenza. I'd also like to know where you got the British flag that your sporting underneath the motor...I want to copy you.

CT? What's that?
I'm going to try a Dunlop Elite3. I've got it on hand and it'll be mounted before RAAIV.
I ran my Cooper Zeon 2XS at 43psi for awhile. I do believe that ate into my high mileage expectations but I'll still get 20k+.

Flipper you really hurt my feelings. Like every good "Hard Core Biker" I park my girl in the living room and the Wife vacuumed just before our Y2K party.

Snuff,

I run between 35 to 38 PSI. I tried lower pressure for awhile (32) but found she handled better when I went up a little. The Union Jack is from British Cycle Supply and their decals are in the 251 part series if they still carry them.

I just checked out the BritCycle website, it appears that the 251 series is gone. What did the item in question look like anyway?
