Thanks Bull! I want to get this done before RAA

Getting down to crunch time, eh?
I be waiting on getting my tin back from the painter.
A few other things and I should be ready to ride!
You should zoom up to Nampa. ID and hook up with us on the 20th.
Or somewhere between there and say Logan, UT.

Just thought I'd mention that Truck-lite also has a 7 incher that's much more reasonably priced, for those of us on R3 Tourings, and matching(ish) 4.5 inch driving lights. The whole kit is under $400, the 7-incher alone is a mere $182 on Amazon and the 4.5 inchers are $96. I may wind up buying some headlamps...

Some comparisons here: http://bogiesreviews.webs.com/Review - Phase 7 LED Headlights & Passing Lamps.pdf

Not relevant (exactly) to the dual lamps being discussed here, these are 7-inch light tests, but seemed like the appropriate thread to interject it in.

Also, anyone buying the HD lights should look into the original manufacturer as an option... http://www.jwspeaker.com/other/led-headlamps - apparently they give 4 year warranties, as opposed to HD's 1. For the same lamps. Did not check availability or price though, just tossing it out there.

Nothing wrong with the Truck lite I just feel the JW Speaker puts out more light. I note that in your test link the JW Speaker was used. The Harley Daymaker (made exclusively for them by JW Speaker) is superior to that light.
Additionally, light splashed on a wall relates little about its effectiveness. An NIST certified light meter should be used to take candela or lux readings at appropriate heights in accordance with proper measurements. This will establish the light beam parameters and intensities with relation to the human eye threshold to detect and identify objects at night. I just purchased such a $3000+ meter for my work and shall be measuring the beams of motors as well as cars. Should be interesting to see the comparison data.

Just realized that by putting, HD parts on my R3R I will be creating some type of weird Triumph/Harley hybrid ............I think im gonna hurl :notworthy:
