Can I do this mod without the rocket commander and get any benefit out of it? And would I have to remap the ECU? ( I am a novice and don't really know how that is done.)
 
You WILL need the tuneECU software, or Tuneboy( not free) .Running the bike on K&N's lets more air in so ( esp at the top end)it will be leaner running without a bit more fuel added.

You have a plethora of knowledgeable folks in your neck of the woods, some of whom probably have the TuneECU and cable. Just have them pop in a fresh map for your setup and viola!! You can also adjust the tables for max power, but I'd take it in for dyno tuning for that. Good Luck
 
I've heard that the PC V Autotune has lot's of problems. Does it include an O2 sensor? If not, how can it auto tune? I'm running the PC III which has worked very well but needs to be done on the dyno with the O2 sensor.
What has been your (all of you that have the PC V ) experience with it?
