K&N 4040

Anybody using the K&N E-3050s?

@Steel did you ever get ahold of Daryl? Was he able to get you a good price? I'm contemplating 3 new 1770s now that I've finally gotten the mounting sorted. Filters are fine, but the stack bases are pretty chewed from all the times on/off.

Not yet. Just got home from the rig yesterday. I got a new tail bag from Viking and some new saddlebags. They were waiting for me when I got home. I pulled the tail bag out of the box, loaded my jacket, gloves, rain gear, boots, a few shirts, and a razor (don't know the policy on a razor in my carry on luggage). Put the tail bag back in the box, and mailed it to Carpenter, so it'll be there ready to go on the bike when I get there.

Now I'm really confused! 1770's,2780's,4040's and now these? Which ones do I get? Not planning on changing my exhaust in the immediate future if that has any bearing on it.

to gain anything in the way of a real performance improvement from a air cleaner change you need to derestrict the exhaust some as well, the size from small to - larges is 2780, 3050/1770, 4040, the 2780's will fit under bearclaw (with out cutting it) the others wont, also the Ramair will move more air than the 2780's and also fit under a unmodified bearclaw, hope this helps
Oh and not even sure the 3050 will fit as I do not know of any body running them as yet

I plan on running without the bearclaw as I like the hot rod look. 4040 then?
